Neat Ideas Fair 2009

Updates as of 11-17-2009:

History

Entrepreneurial Society conceived of and created this event several years ago and sought to partner with SJSU faculty and partners to put it on.  The NIF welcomes any exhibit that demonstrates value add, demand satisfaction, or problem solving.

Judging

More than one dozen judges are neutral, Silicon Valley experts who are not stakeholders of any team, and who generously impart their vast experience, wisdom, insight, and evaluation for our student teams.

Emphasis is placed on ability to meet need or demand for the target market or audience and deliver value that others could not easily deliver or imitate.
ES Members will receive exclusive training and mentorship from experienced Silicon Valley business leaders on how to improve their exhibits and apply their ideas.
See link to judging criteria here:

Your Idea, Your Team

ES’s entire Fall line-up of events, meetings, workshops and activities are devoted to helping students brainstorm ideas with other students, form teams, and enter an exhibit into the event.  As an ES member, you will be given exclusive access to mentors, analysts, workshops, and an “ES Mock NIF” to give as much support and professional preparation to students as possible.

In parallel or subsequence to the NIF, ES aims to help students evaluate their NIF entries and determine whether they should enter our Fall Business Plan Competition with a $10,000 First Prize, or choose a new idea/team.  The NIF channels student activity toward the ultimate mission of ES to add value to their community, their market of choice, and start a business of their choice and unique conception.
